Amazing Matchstick Architecture

This amazing artwork creation is composed of 163,000 matches and took Mr Grieg King of Mt Morgan Australia, 170 days to complete. If you were to go out and purchase the 3260 boxes of matches required to build this matchstick mansion, it would cost you well over $1300.

The creation is 95cm long, 63cm deep and 50cm in height. It weighs 5 kilograms.

This item of artwork is unique, as Mr King does not make the same item twice. This piece was recently displayed in Mount Morgan at the Golden Nugget Hotel for and received a great deal of attention as a result.

This matchstick home is built on a board of plywood (photo further down) and is remarkable not only because it is built of matches, but that because it is totally held together by glue, and yet retains strength.
