| December 31, 2005: The Year that was '05: - This year almost gone was a year of great leaps forward for mankind as a whole and also for me personally. As I look back over the year I can see a number of holes have been filled in in my life, financially and spiritually. Its seems that as each year progresses there is a building on what has already happened so that the cumulative effect is one of constantly achieving more and more. For this Im most grateful and I cant attribute thanks to anyone else other that the Lord God. 2005 was also a year of unprecedented natural disasters which really brings back to mind what the Bible says in Matthew 24. Never before have I been so amazed by what I saw on the television and internet footage of the tsunami and the pictures of New Orleans and Pakistan. Finally it was also a year that exactly 16332 people visited this site and I feel greatly priveleged to have been able to bless may of these through my prayers and articles. Over 100 people indicated they began or renewed their faith through this site and for me this is the greatest blessing of all. 2005 was a good year but we know that as we continue to walk with Jesus that we will see further improvement and building in the year to come. Thank you for your prayers they are hugely valued and appreciated. |
| December 27, 2005: Taking a Well Deserved Break: - Its been a very hectic year and I'm now enjoying myself at the Gold Coast having a holiday. Actually I'm taking 5 weeks break but only this first week is at the Gold Coast. The remainder will be spent between Rockhampton, Brisbane and Canberra. I want to thank you for your friendship through the year and I will be keen to email and chat with you in 2006. In the meanwhile I'm taking it pretty easy. The surf is great!! |
| December 22, 2005: Merry Christmas To You: - Although this is a couple of days early, I would like to take this time to wish you a very merry Christmas. I know that God has good plans for those who love Him. The Bible tells us this in Romans 8. So keep your faith focused on the Lord and this Christmas will be a time of blessing for you. December 17, 2005: Carols by Candlelight: - Tonight we had our annual Carols by Candlelight in Mount Morgan and it was fantastic  to have it back at the Railway Station, an historic and beautiful location. We sung a number of carols and for the first time we had these cool glow in the dark bracelets. About 30 or 40 kids ran wild with them. You couldn't actually see the kids in the dark but it was very obvious seeing dozens of glow int he dark bracelets all over the place. It was huge fun. A great night was had by all and I was given 5 minutes to share about the meaning of Christmas by the Mount Morgan Combined Churches Committee. I was able to share that Christmas really is about how hope and life and salvation became possible through Jesus. Jesus really is the best Chrsitmas present of all. |
| December 15, 2005: The Secret to Being Happy: - Christmas is supposed to be a time of goodwill towards all men, but this idea actually never came from the Bible. The Bible says that Jesus came so that there would be "goodwill to all whom God favours." That probably explains why many people are actually grumpy at Christmas rather than happy after all. | December 14, 2005: Happy Birthday Bithiah: - Today is my daughters birthday. Happy Birthday Bithiah. Bithiah has reached the grand age of 7 and is very proud in having done so. Today I gave her a huge teddy bear (massive) and some dolls and a jewellery case for her birthday. She is a fine girl and I'm very pleased to have a daughter like her. |
December 10, 2005: Christmas Lights Go Up: - Its been my goal for several years to decorate the church here with Christmas lights.  Finally today it was done. I admit that the lighting is only basic and that there are many far more spectactular exhibits to be found, but this is a beginning. Some friends from the church here spent about 6 hours today on an extension ladder doing it. |
| December 9, 2005: The Real Meaning of Christmas: - The word Christmas really means "Mass of Christ" which basically means a special service to remember Jesus. However we don't have to only remember him at Church, we are able to remember and be thankful everywhere. Read more... |
