Dear Friends

Hows your week been?  In Isaiah 55 is a verse which says that "God's ways are higher than our ways, and His thoughts are higher than our thoughts."   In other words, God often sees things differently to how you and I see them.  When we are faced with a set of circumstances we cannot understand, or it seems like everything is against us.......don't forget, God knows more than what we know and He is seeing things we have missed.

Sometimes the very things which seem so cruel or hard to handle are the things which end up saving or helping us.  Just think, who would ever have imagined that the death of Jesus in such a cruel horrible way would be the means of our salvation.  It seems back to front doesn't it, but this is often the way with God.

He uses difficult and trying circumstances to make us into better people.

I have known for a long time that we only ever learn in tough times.  When everything is going along smoothly, we are so happy enjoying it, that we don't learn anything.  We don't grow, we don't develop.  So the christian faith is a combination of both highs and lows..............but we need them both to be stable and good people.

When things go funny, it is tempting to question God and wonder "What is He up to?  Has he forgotten about me?"  or other questions like these.  But rest assured..........God knows what He is doing.

In proverbs chapter 3 is a verse which says "Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding.  In all your ways acknowledge Him and He will direct your path."   This is what I mean.  Because we don't understand God all the time, we must learn to trust Him.  He does know what He is doing and He will bring things around for the best in the end.

Sadly, sometimes people never realise this is how God works and they become bitter.............don't become bitter, instead become better.

Cheers - All my love and prayers

David
