| My hiking trip didn't end up going as planned. There were a couple of things which happened which were unfortunate and the whole event was a little stressful while I was in the middle of it. However, now that it is over I am glad to have had the experience of remote solo hiking. The rangers at Carnarvon National Park wanted me to send them photos and a report of my trip. I finished doing this report up today and you can read the report here You can also see my photos there as well, including a panorama I took, beware however because the panorama is over 2MB in size and may take a while to download. Part of the stresses of my trip were that I injured a knee and became sick, but the worst part was accidentally losing my water supply and having to survive nearly 2 days on my one remaining litre of water. Never in all my life have I felt as thirsty or needy or dependant on God.(which is a good place to be) God did not let me down but came to my rescue everytime I cried out in distress. He heard my prayers and gave me physical and emotional strength to carry on. The whole experience has taught me a number of lessons both about being practical outdoors but also about my spiritual journey with Jesus. I'll share some of these thoughts in the email this week. |
