| Let me share with you some of the stories about Jesus from the Injil. (part of the Bible) Jesus warms my heart with goodness and makes the way of life very easy. It would please my heart very much for you to also find Jesus in the way I have. One of my favourite stories is this one: "But Jesus went to the Mount of Olives. At dawn he appeared again in the temple courts, where all the people gathered around him, and he sat down to teach them. The teachers of the law and the Pharisees brought in a woman caught in adultery. They made her stand before the group and said to Jesus, "Teacher, this woman was caught in the act of adultery. In the Law Moses commanded us to stone such women. Now what do you say?" They were using this question as a trap, in order to have a basis for accusing him. But Jesus bent down and started to write on the ground with his finger. When they kept on questioning him, he straightened up and said to them, "If any one of you is without sin, let him be the first to throw a stone at her." Again he stooped down and wrote on the ground. At this, those who heard began to go away one at a time, the older ones first, until only Jesus was left, with the woman still standing there. Jesus straightened up and asked her, "Woman, where are they? Has no one condemned you?" "No one, sir," she said. "Then neither do I condemn you," Jesus declared. "Go now and leave your life of sin."" John 8:1-11 Another of my favourite stories of Jesus is this one. "A few days later, when Jesus again entered Capernaum, the people heard that he had come home. So many gathered that there was no room left, not even outside the door, and he preached the word to them. Some men came, bringing to him a paralytic, carried by four of them. Since they could not get him to Jesus because of the crowd, they made an opening in the roof above Jesus and, after digging through it, lowered the mat the paralysed man was lying on. When Jesus saw their faith, he said to the paralytic, "Your sins are forgiven." Now some teachers of the law were sitting there, thinking to themselves, "Why does this fellow talk like that? He's blaspheming! Who can forgive sins but God alone?" Immediately Jesus knew in his spirit that this was what they were thinking in their hearts, and he said to them, "Why are you thinking these things? Which is easier: to say to the paralytic, 'Your sins are forgiven,' or to say, 'Get up, take your mat and walk'? But that you may know that the Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins . . . ." He said to the paralytic, "I tell you, get up, take your mat and go home." He got up, took his mat and walked out in full view of them all. This amazed everyone and they praised God, saying, "We have never seen anything like this!"" Mark 2:1-12 The more of the holy Injil I read, the more I am convinced that Jesus loves me and accepts me the way that I am. The Injil teaches that Jesus is actually God in the form of a human. Because God so loved the world and His mercy is so great (Al Rahman) He decided to become a human to demonstrate this love to us. God gave up every thing to do this and He took on the form of a man and walked the dusty streets of the Middle East so that He could proclaim to us the truths of forgiveness and how we might follow Him and enter paradise. The Injil says it like this. "Though He (Jesus) was God, He did not demand and cling to His rights as God. He made Himself nothing; He took the humble position of a slave and appeared in human form." Philippians 2:5-7 and elsewhere in the Injil it says, "Christ (Jesus) is the visible image of the invisible God." Colossians 1:15. In addition to the fact that Jesus was Allah, the Injil reveals a number of other startling things about Jesus. -Jesus was born of a virgin. "She (Mary) remained a virgin until her son was born. And Joseph named him Jesus." Matthew 1:25 -Jesus was without sin "He faced all the same temptations that we do, yet was without sin." Hebrews 4:15 -Jesus predicted the future accurately. "As Jesus was leaving the Temple grounds, his disciples pointed out to Him the various Temple buildings. But He told them, 'Do you see all these buildings? I assure you, they will be so completely demolished that not one stone will be left on top of another!" Matthew 24:1-2. Today we know that the Temple buildings were demolished in 70AD, a mere 40 years later. -Jesus died and rose back to life again. "Do not be so surprised. You are looking for Jesus.....He isn't here! He has been raised from the dead!" Mark 16:6 -Jesus loved his enemies. "O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, the city that kills the prophets and stones God's messengers! How often I have wanted to gather your children together as a hen protects her chicks beneath her wings, but you wouldn't let me. And now look your house is left to you empty and desolate." Matthew 23:37-38 There is a great more about Jesus that is both interesting and startling. The most exciting part is that the Injil declares that as a result of the death of Jesus, and his perfect life, He is able to provide the forgiveness of sins if we ask for it. We do not have to earn it or work hard to be worthy, it is a free gift. Jesus also wants to give us certainty in our hearts and provide a place for us in paradise. Many people do not have this certainty, but through Jesus you can find great hope and tranquillity within your heart. If you would like to turn your life into the hands of Jesus today and receive his free gift of entry to paradise and the pardon of your sins, this prayer will help you to do that: "Jesus, I believe you truly are God. I believe your true desire is to help me find a way to peace and hope and that you desire to help me. Today I confess that I have been a man/women of sin. Please pardon my sins and provide for me a place in paradise. Grant me certainty in my heart and remove from me the fear of dying. Show me that I am truly accepted and help me to learn and obey your ways and teachings. Your Servant" If you truly were moved in your heart to pray this prayer and lay your life in the hands of Jesus, then please leave your details here. I would like to help you by sending more teachings about the Injil and Jesus. |
