Dear Friends,
The Tent of Promise has gone home and we are now getting back to "normal" life, except for the fact that it was a life changeing time and now I don't know if life is normal anymore. There were 181 people go through the tent and make a decision to give their life to God and that was thrilling, and I now realise that I'm going to be very busy catching up with all these people and trying to help them in their new faith in Jesus. So I guess my new normal will be busy.
I remember a few years ago I took my children to the "train bridge" (thats their name for it), a bridge in Rockhampton where the train crosses the river, but it also has a footpath so people can use it. The kids love walking over and looking down at the water, however on this particular day a train began to cross the bridge while we on it. The whole bridge began to shake and my son Titus (pictured further down) started to panic. I tried to reassure him saying "It's OK Titus......this happens all the time." But he grabbed me and wouldn't let go until the train had gone by. (and in Australia they can be very very long)
Of course there was nothing to worry about...........but Titus didn't know that. The only way he could feel safe was by being next to me. He knew that I would look after him.
In just the same way, there are things in your life that you do worry about. But there is no reason for us to be afraid because we have a Heavenly Father who is with us and able to take care of us. However a lot of the time we human beings tend to forget that God is there and we don't run and grab onto Him, instead we try to do things ourselves.
However whenever we have a problem we should instead grab onto God........be next to Him. He is able to do anything and it is the safest place to be. In fact it is a mystery to me why we don't trust God with our lives as much as we should because things would go much more smoothly if we did. God is bigger, stronger and more able than anyone else and nothing is too big for Him to fix. On top of that, He loves us more than anyone else, so if that is the case (and it is)..............there is no need to be afraid of anything that might come our way, because with God we will be safe.
In the Bible Paul and Barnabus were thrown in jail even though they were innocent. For most of us it would be a reason to worry and be afraid..........but not for them. They knew God was on their side............and a miracle occured and the next day they were free men again. You can read it in Acts 16:16-38. They were secure because they knew God loved them and only had the best in mind for them..............they knew that God was using them for some good reason and that only good would be the outcome.
So the best scripture to remind you of is this one from Romans 8:28 "And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose."
So...Be at Peace
Cheers
