Hi Friends,
Its been about a month since I last wrote an email out to you. It's been a thoughtful month and a time of prayer, thinking and evaluating my goals and direction in life. I'm not finished with that process and have much more to pray about and think through, but there is one thing I wanted to share with you today.
A few days ago I came across a poster in a bookshop with the words "No Longer I" as the heading. It reminded me of that famous scripture in Galatians 2:20 where Paul said "Its no longer I that live, but Christ lives in me." Its a very meaningfull scripture which each of us would do well to consider. Basically it means that Paul had come to a place where he wasn't living his own life anymore......not living it for himself anyway, but He was living His whole life for someone else....for Christ.
It's actually quite easy to work out what or who we are living our lives for? We simply look at how we spend our time, money and the things we value. We often spend all our time, money, thoughts and efforts living and daydreaming about thigns that don't' mean a whole lot when you really sit down and examine them. In the end money, fame, happiness, a good body, a handsome boyfriend or all these things wil come to an end, but whatever we have placed in Christ will last forever.
What would it mean however for Christ to live in me?
I think that would mean we would be interested in what He was intersted in. We would do the things He wanted us to do. We would make friends with the people He wanted us to make friends with.
This is not something you can choose to do by just trying hard or by self determination.............actually it is a change that must take place in your spirit by inviting Christ in and handing everything over to Him. However it would be the most worthwhile thing you had ever done.
I've been living a Christian life now for 24 years, I was born again at the age of 4, but is now that I'm really starting to think about the idea of full and total surrendur..........which really is actually the beginning of meaning, purpose and true happiness. What a place to be.
Bless you a million Cheers David
PS I have a webcam now setup in my church in Mount Morgan, but its very temperamental. I was wondering if you'd like to have a look and see if it will work for you. You will have to change ActiveX settings to Prompt and then hit Yes when the browser prompts you. Check it out.
