Dear Friends,
Life couldn't get any better surely.......having Jesus in your life makes all the difference doesn't it. Of course its not only having God that helps, its also letting Him have you that brings real peace and joy.
Anyway today I was reading my Bible and read this verse from Proverbs 15:8 (New Living Version) "The Lord hates the sacrifice of the wicked, but He delights in the prayers of the upright." That sure got my attention, and it reminded me of the story of Cain in the Old Testament. (you can read that story in Genesis 4:1-16.)
Cain brought God a sacrifice but God didn't accept it, and his brother Abel brought God a sacrifice and God did accept it. I always thought that it was because Cain brought the wrong kind of sacrifice.......you know, he brought fruit and vegetables rather than animals. However from Proverbs 15 we see that actually it was because Cain brought it with a wrong attitude or a wrong motive, and God hates that.
God sees our heart and knows if we are rightly or wrongly motivated.
There's a lesson in it for our prayers and faith. We must come to God with the right motive........a humble heart truly dependant on Him and trusting Him. This kind of heart, a surrendured life and sincere prayers will always be accepted by God. There is a promise for us who pray sincerely. It says that "God delights in the prayers of the upright." So God loves to hear our prayers and in fact he is excited by them.
May you prosper and be in good health. I hope this email reaches you in good spirits and that God's grace will be on your life.
Bless you a million Cheers David |
