Dear Friends,

How many times have you ever heard someone say that "God loves you" and of course you agreed because its true.  However, whilst we all agree that it is true in our minds.......we often don't feel it in our hearts.  So allow me to share something which I hope will help you to feel it a bit more today.  Its a simple explanation found in the Bible which tells us what God is like.

Have any of you ever done algebra in school?  Well, let me show you a little biblical algebra.  In 1 John 4:18 it says that "God is love."    The in 1 Corinthians 13 we find the chapter which describes what love is.  Well if God is love, then if we know what love is, we know what God is like......just like in algebra.  When a = b, and b = c, we know that a also eqauls c.

So when we read 1 Corinthians 13:4-8, everytime we see the word "love" we just put "God" in its place because after all....."God is love."  Let me share it with you as I have described. (from the New Living Translation)

"God is patient and kind.  God is not jealous, boastful, proud or rude.  God does not demand His own way.  God is not irritable, (that means He doesn't get annoyed) and He keeps no record of wrong.  He is never glad about injustice but rejoices whenever the truth wins out.  God never gives up, never loses faith, is always hopeful and endures through every circumstance.  God will last forever."

I find it incredible to think that God doesn't get annoyed with us, and certainly doesn't keep a list of our sins.  Its also wonderful to know He never gives up on us.........what a wonderful God we have.  Let us learn more how to live for Him.
