Dear Friends

What a great week that was! Last Friday God asked me to do one of the hardest things I've ever been asked, and thankfully I was obedient. Needless to say I've been on cloud 9 this week. (Its funny how obedience makes us happy) In any case how have you been? Keeping well I hope. I've been praying for everyone on the website and had a few great testimonies of answered prayer arrive in my inbox just today. Thank God for that. Don't give up seeking and you shall find.

God doesn't seem to give us everything we want, but He sure does provide our needs and if we desire to be victorious over sin, or to grow in faith, He loves answering those prayers more than anything.

Something I've been praying about everyday this last week is that God would give me the "fear of the Lord." It's a funny thing to pray for really, you don't hear much about it in churches these days, but its quite a powerful thing, or at least I have come to see it like that.

When I did a search on the fear of the Lord in the Bible, I discovered that in fact God promises just about everything good to those who fear Him. The main thing that draws my attention though is that the fear of the Lord, when it is in a man or woman's heart will keep them from sinning and make them obedient. That is exactly what I want in my life.

Its so easy to be sidetracked and backslide (you can still be attending church while you are backslidden) and to begin to drift in the things of God. But, the fear of God in us keeps us always focussed, that's why I'd like it so badly. In Jeremiah 17:9-10 it says "The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked; who can know it? I the Lord search the heart, I test the mind." Without the fear of God in our lives, the very wickedness we were born with somehow just takes us away so naturally. This whole subject is a complex one which I don't begin to understand, but I know that anything from God is good.

Check out what Isaiah 11:1-3 predicted about Jesus and the fear of the Lord in Him.

Do the same as me, pray for the fear of the Lord everyday in your prayers, so that you won't be sideswiped by the evil one.

Cheers to you because of the Saviour. Have a wonderful weekend, I hope you find yourself in a church somewhere and that the goodness of God hijacks your life.

Bye, catch you later

David
