What is a Podcast?

A podcast is a special file written in XML, a new fangled computer language. This file is able to tell your special music or audio program that there is a new song or new content available, and once you have it setup properly it will download the new content whenever it becomes available.

What you need to do is to tell your program (i-tunes or whatever) where this special file is located and then from there, the program will do the rest. After this, all you have to do is connect your MP3 player and the content will upload for you to listen to at your leisure.

In this circumstance the file is http://www.davidsplace.info/audio/podcast.rss and so you only need to type that into the appropriate place in your program. In i-tunes you follow the instructions below. For other media players the idea is the same, but the exact method will be slightly different.

1. Open up i-tunes
2. Click Advanced, then click 'Subscribe to Podcast' as in graphic below.

3. Type in the URL of the special podcast file as in graphic below.

4. Then simply click on the 'Podcasts' button and it will start to work.
